What is going on with journalism and news? Having a vibrant and independent news is vital for informing the community, especially in the times we find ourselves at the moment. However it seems in the hour of greatest need we are seeing news outlets close and respect for journalists worldwide diminishing, even being physically attacked in the bastion of free speech. On a local level it is sad to see so many mastheads putting out their last editions.
We have worked for many of these publications ourselves and we are saddened that our colleagues will no longer be able to produce news for their communities that they once served.
