QCWA student bursary applications closing soon – 31 January
Over $17,000 to be awarded
Queensland students interested in receiving financial assistance through The Queensland
Country Women’s Association 2021 bursary offerings have until 31 January to apply.
More than 15 bursaries are on offer, each valued between $500 and $2,500.
Bursaries are open to male and female students and cover different ages and areas of study.
QCWA State President Christine King said the annual bursary campaign enabled students to
pursue their educational goals, especially after many families experienced financial hardship
in 2020.
“This is one of our favourite ways to support the Queensland community,” she said.
“Most students would have their tertiary offers by now so it’s time to finalise applications
and get them in before the deadline.
“This could mean the difference between someone having the finances to kick-start their
career of choice or not.”
Some of the bursaries on offer include:
• Ruth Fairfax Memorial Bursary for rural studies (2 x $2,500)
• Audrey J Hoskin Music Bursary for vocal or instrumental studies (1 x $1,000)
• Daphne Dowdle Midwifery Bursary (1 x $1,000)
• Mallalieu Home Foundation Trust Scholarship for accommodation for music study (4 x
$500)
• State Photography Bursary (1 x $500)
• Plus a range of regional bursaries for students who reside in different QCWA divisions.
