Dragons vs Snakes
Last Saturday our Eumundi Dragons reserve grade team travelled to Kevin Kaeser Park in Morayfield to take on the might of the Caboolture Snakes Rugby Union team.
This was the second match for our team this year with the previous one being played at home on the 14th March , before the COVID-19 lockdowns.
Our team , which comprised quite a few players who are new to our club , started well with an early lead of 3 points to nil thanks to a well directed penalty kick from Pete Sims.
In an exciting and hard fought match the Caboolture outfit finished the match as 27-6 winners . Certainly a respectable scoreline.
Our Dragon’s players can be proud of the way they played against a team that has been together for quite a few seasons. For many of our players this is the first season of Rugby with quite a few of them previously involved in Rugby League or AFL.
With a few more training sessions and matches “ under their belts “ the boys from Eumundi , ably captained and coached by Dan Cooper , will be a real force to be reckoned with in Sunshine Coast Rugby competitions.
Thanks also to team manager , Blair Fuller , who continues to do a great job dealing with all the Rugby Australia and SCRU paperwork , entering team sheets and results and making sure that all players are well looked after .
Next Saturday the Eumundi Dragons take on the Uni Barbarians . Look out Uni !!
GO THE DRAGONS !!
